Accepting Payments with Bakesy

With Bakesy you can accept any method of payment. Bakesy will never take a commission from your orders.


There are two different types of payment workflows:

  1. Out-of-app payments

  2. Bakesy Secure Payments (Credit Card)


Out-of-App Payments

When setting up your Bakesy Shop you will have the option to list the payment methods you accept and have the ability to list the payment links for those platforms that will appear on the invoices you send to customers (they won't be visible anywhere else).


Please note: when inputting your usernames for Venmo, Cashapp, and PayPal - Bakesy will automatically create the payment link for those platforms.

This is very convenient for customers, as they'll be able to click the payment link directly from the invoice, which will then take them to your profile on that payment platform instantly.


For payment platforms that are linked to your phone number like Zelle and ApplePay, simply input your phone number as your username. Please note that the phone number listed won't be a clickable payment link on the invoice.


When payment is received through other payment processing platforms like Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, etc. you will need to open the order in Bakesy and manually mark the order as paid. Bakesy is not fully integrated with other payment platforms.


Bakesy Secure Payments (Credit Card)

When processing payments via Credit Card through Bakesy Secure Payments, there is a standard payment processing fee of 3.9% + $0.30 per transaction.


Bakesy Secure Payments is optional and offered as a convenience to our users. If you do not wish to provide this payment method to your customers, make sure this method is unchecked when creating an invoice. Bakesy Secure Payments is only available for US users.

When payment is received via Bakesy Secure Payments, you will receive a push notification notifying you that you received payment and the order status in Bakesy will automatically update within the app.


To have funds transferred to your bank account, you will need to set up your Payout account. To do this, go to the Payout screen by selecting ‘Account’ on the bottom menu, then select ‘Payouts’ - Select the blue button that says ‘Add Payout Account’


You will then need to verify your identity and enter your bank account or debit card details. This process should take less than 3 minutes. Once this is completed, there should be a green icon that says ‘Active’ on the Payout screen.


Once your Payout account is active, payouts will always automatically be made to your linked bank account every two business days from the date payment is received.
